Houses designed around
the way you actually live.

Independent homes, villas, farmhouses and second homes — planned for the site, the climate and the family, and documented so they get built properly.

A house is the most personal thing a studio is asked to design and the least forgiving to get wrong. You will live inside the decisions daily: which way the morning light comes in, whether the kitchen can see the gate, how far the laundry is from where the clothes are, whether guests walk through the family's space to reach the dining table.

We design houses by working through those ordinary details first, then finding a form that holds them.

What we design

Independent houses

On plots from compact urban sites to larger suburban ones, with setbacks and FAR worked to your advantage rather than treated as a limit.

Villas and farmhouses

Where the site is the main event — the design begins with where you stand and what you see.

Additions and upper floors

New floors and extensions on existing homes, with the structure checked before anything is promised.

Multi-generational homes

Layouts that give independence and shared space at once, which is a planning problem before it is a style problem.

Climate, before style

In this part of the country the sun and the monsoon decide comfort more than any material does. Orientation, shading, cross-ventilation, roof treatment and the position of openings do more for a house than an air-conditioner rated one tonne larger. We design for that first, because it costs nothing at the drawing stage and cannot be added later.

We write about this more fully in why courtyards still make the best Indian homes.

Vastu, handled sensibly

Many clients ask for vastu compliance, and we work with it. Most vastu requirements are about orientation, entry and zoning, which are architectural decisions anyway — they can usually be honoured without distorting the plan. Where a requirement genuinely conflicts with daylight or circulation, we show you both options and the consequences, and you decide. See vastu and modern architecture.

Questions

Frequently asked

What size of plot do you work on?
There is no minimum. Small plots are often the more interesting problem, because every square foot has to do two jobs.
Will you give a 3D view before I commit to construction?
Yes. Design development includes views of the key spaces, so you are approving something you can actually picture rather than a plan you have to imagine.
Can you design in a specific style?
We will design to your taste, but we will also tell you when a style choice will date badly or fight the climate. That conversation is part of the service.
Do you supervise construction?
We visit periodically and check work against the drawings. Full-time supervision is a separate engagement; a contractor's site engineer is not a substitute for it, and we will say so when a project needs one.
